The Honourable Kerry-Lynne Findlay, PC, QC

  • Kerry Lynne is a Ladner Rotarian, and a member of both the Delta Chamber of Commerce and the Ladner Business Association. She lives in Delta with her husband Brent, is the mother of 4 children and a grandmother to 2 year-old twin boys.
  • She was directly responsible for delivering the secondary channel dredging of our Ladner Harbour and in Steveston through the collaboration of the Federal Government (DFO), the Corporation of Delta, Port Metro Vancouver, the City of Richmond and the Province of BC, with support from local MLAs.
  • Since taking office, Minister Findlay has delivered over $430 million in federal investments into Delta for infrastructure, major business contracts, sports and cultural activities, seniors, veterans, youth, education, public safety, the environment, and local infrastructure improvements for our sports facilities, and civic buildings.
  • May 2011 ELECTED as Member of Parliament (Delta—Richmond East).
  • May 2011 – February 2013 appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice & spearheaded through Parliamentary Committees & the House of Commons legislation standing up for Victims of Crime and getting tough on violent, repeat criminals, especially those who do harm to children.
  • February-July 2013 appointed Associate Minister of National Defense responsible for large, complex Defence procurement contracts within a $35 Billion budget.  Also served on the Foreign Affairs and Defence Cabinet Committee, and National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy Ministerial Committee
  • July 2013 appointed Minister of National Revenue responsible for one of the largest Departments in the Federal Government with 51 Tax Services Offices, 43,000 employees, and an annual budget of $4.3 Billion, & answerable to Parliament for the Canada Revenue Agency. Initiated many service delivery improvements including the Liaison Officer initiative, Plain Language changes to forms and information, Underground Economy Ministerial Committee and enhanced funding, advances in delivery of e-services, and dubbed a “red tape warrior” for her leadership.  Also served on the Treasury Board and the Economic Prosperity Cabinet Committee
  • Minister Findlay is a lawyer, a Queen’s Counsel, a Certified Mediator, and a Privy Councillor
  • Kerry-Lynne graduated from UBC with a BA and a Law Degree. She also took Advanced Negotiation and Constitutional Law studies at Harvard Law School.
  • Kerry-Lynne has been recognized as a leader in red tape reduction with the CFIB Golden Scissors Award, the YWCA Women of Distinction Award for community work, the Canadian Bar Association’s national Cecilia Johnstone Award for mentoring women and advancing their professional participation, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from her High School, Crofton House .
